FAQs

Q: Is this just for title agents?

A: Nope! It’s built for anyone who needs to understand title — closers, processors, examiners, startup owners, even real estate teams training new hires.

Q: Is your educational content accredited?

A: Sorry, no. I know, it’s a bummer. Here’s why we’re not:

  • This is a living, constantly updated database. Accreditation requires content to be locked in and reapproved every time it’s updated. You need up-to-date resources that you can use in the moment, to get the job done.

  • Accreditation limits the type of content. While yes some of our content may qualify for accreditation, we also provide tools, hyperlinks to additional resources, operational guides, business growth training, and so much more.

  • Accreditation in all 50 states would drain our resources, reduce the quantity of content we can provide, and ultimately raise your prices, a lot.

Q: What makes this different from
free info online?

A: Free info is scattered, outdated, sounds like it was written by lawyers and often only talks about the “what” and the “why” never the “how.” We organize, update, translate, and break it down into actionable steps. Written by title people, for title people. You know, the old saying is generally true… “You get what you pay for.” If it’s free, what’s it really worth?

Wicked Title Forum is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Q: What if I don’t love it?

A: Cancel anytime — no guilt, no emails begging you to stay, no hassle.

Q: Can my whole team join?

A: Our software doesn’t currently support group memberships, but contact us and we can help facilitate a group price.

Q: I get bulletins from my underwriter, updates from my State Land Title Association, the occasional free webinar from vendors, what makes you different and worth paying for?

A: While all of those are excellent sources of important information, each one has its limitations and differences.

Underwriter Bulletins: These deal with changes to regulations, internal responses to evolving claims situations, and internal policy. They are critical to your operations, but they don’t cover all the things you need to know about title, they are brief snippets of information not in-depth explorations, they are not always easily searched for and referenced when you need them later, and don’t generally tell you “how” to do the thing. And finally, your underwriter often owns multiple subsidiaries that may color or limit their ability to share with you solutions that are available but competitive to their interests.

State Land Title Associations: Your LTA is your primary local regulatory watchdog. They will alert you to potential changes so you can intercede with local law makers and effect changes before the bills become laws. They are often an excellent source of accredited education. And many have useful and informative newsletters. Back archives of newsletters and courses are not always available for you to access, generally aren’t searchable in a moment’s notice, and are limited by the topics their volunteers are willing to teach.

Vendor Webinars: Our beloved industry vendors create a lot of very high quality, helpful content that explores a wide variety of topics. We are actively indexing these resources and adding them to our searchable knowledge base so that you can find them in the moment you need them. We also curate upcoming events and share them with you in a timely manner so you don’t miss out on new topics. However, many vendors only run webinars on topics related to the product they sell, limiting the depth and breadth of information available.

The Difference:

  • Independence & Freedom: At the Wicked Title Forum, we are independently owned and operated, written by experienced title people for title people and exclusively invested in documenting the vast knowledge that is the world of title insurance. This grants us the freedom to talk about any subject matter you want us to, in as much detail as you want. We’re small, agile and responsive, meaning that we often will prioritize topics requested by our members and will even integrate the knowledge, advice and resources that our members share with us.

  • Searchable: We aren’t just creating content in order to sell you something. We are archiving the entirety of the world of title, indexing by category, and delivering it to you inside an easily accessible, searchable, digital knowledge base. You may receive new articles in your inbox, but they live on our website.

  • Obsessed with “How”: Know what you need to do and why you need to do it is helpful, but when the time comes to actually do it: crickets aren’t helpful. At the Wicked Title Forum we strive to couple explanations with actionable steps, instructions, templates, tools and shortcuts so you know exactly what to do, when to do it, and have the resources necessary to actually get the job done.
